Edwin Marti, Jr. joined our firm in October, 2018. He served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department from 2004 until 2007 when he transferred to the Shallotte Police Department. There he earned his Advanced Law Enforcement Certification, Specialized Firearms Instructor and General Instructor Certification through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Commission and he was promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant. Mr. Marti has experience in narcotics investigations, sexual assaults, violent crimes, domestic violence, murder and financial investigations. He left law enforcement in 2014 and went on to complete his Juris Doctor at North Carolina Central University School of Law. There he served as an Academic Fellow for Property Law, Decedent Estates and worked as a 3L with a practice license in the low income tax payers clinic. He graduated with honors in 2017.
